About the Project
A kitchen–living room interior created as part of the TV project “Dachny Otvet.”
The clients found themselves in a stylistic dead end, where classical elements conflicted with a Provence-style kitchen. We proposed a lighter, brighter solution — minimal, yet warm and comfortable.
Overall, the space can be described as restrained luxury, where the focus is on the people rather than decorative details.
The redesign involved a complete rethink of the kitchen. Due to existing technical constraints, the layout remained in place, but the kitchen itself was simplified and made more minimal. Additional storage was also introduced.
The kitchen, dining, and living areas are combined into one space, while still remaining clearly defined and logically connected.
The clients did not want direct references to their professions, which are related to aviation. However, since their story is connected to flying, we introduced this idea into the interior in a subtle way.
A “contrail” appears on the ceiling in the form of a neon light. It moves through the space — starting above the kitchen, looping over the dining area with floor-to-ceiling glazing, and ending in the living room.
