About the Project

ZUEV_Flat is a kitchen-living room interior created as part of the television project “Dachny Otvet”.

The original space lacked both visual clarity and functional organisation. The primary task was to bring order to the interior. This was achieved through a balanced colour palette that softens the space, as well as integrated storage solutions that allow for comfortable use while reducing visual clutter.

Layout

The existing zoning familiar to the owners was preserved, while its functionality and convenience were significantly improved.

The kitchen gained additional storage through the relocation of the refrigerator. The oven was also repositioned, while maintaining the classic working triangle, ensuring ease of use for everyday cooking.

Concept

The dominant colour of the project is terracotta, applied across both the ceiling and walls, and extended into the corridor. The kitchen area is defined by natural wood, while accents are introduced through an ultramarine sofa and a dining table designed as an optical illusion inspired by the McCollough effect.

The table features a black-and-white striped surface, which, due to its glossy finish, reflects and absorbs the surrounding tones of the interior.

As a central element, the dining table becomes a focal point for gathering, connecting the dining and lounge areas. It is complemented by a double-sided sofa, which functions both as a seating area and as additional places at the table.

A closed shelving unit plays an important role in the living area, allowing everyday items to be concealed and maintaining a clean visual environment.

The result is a bold and multifunctional space that combines strong visual identity with everyday comfort.
