About the Project
The interior of the Neverland kids club in Saratov was created with the idea of introducing a sense of color and form from an early age.
We wanted to show that such a space can be completely different — with its own character, without loud or aggressive colors, while still remaining appealing to both children and adults.
Before starting the design, we carried out a small study: we showed visualizations to children and asked for their feedback. Girls wanted princesses, boys imagined monsters and heroes. Bringing all of that into one space wasn’t possible, so we limited it to wall panels with familiar characters and focused on planning and creating a creative atmosphere. It was important for us to consider not only the interests of children, but also the needs of their parents.
The club occupies two levels.
The ground floor includes a wardrobe, a photo zone, and service areas. The upper level contains the main functions: a play area, a bar-restaurant, a banquet hall, and a room for workshops.
The space is organised so that adults can relax while still keeping their children in view from almost any point. For example, the bar is placed deeper in the space — it doesn’t draw immediate attention, but still allows a clear view of the play area.
The color palette was carefully considered. We consulted a child psychologist, who explained that children do not need an excess of bright, intense colors.
As a result, the interior is based on soft and calm tones, while more saturated colors appear in accents — wall panels, small houses, play structures, and toys. The restaurant and banquet area use beige and grey tones with brighter accents, while the workshop room is done in shades of green.
Material choice was also important. We used natural, safe, and hypoallergenic materials, with the possibility of easy replacement if needed. Wood adds warmth and a sense of comfort.
The interior also includes a number of designer pieces — furniture, lighting, and decor. Together, these elements create a space that works both for children’s play and for adults to relax.
