About the Project

Negroni is a fine dining restaurant located in the centre of Astana. The concept combines contemporary cuisine with elements of Kazakh identity, alongside French and Pan-Asian influences, interpreted through advanced culinary techniques.

Layout

The 450 m² space features generous volumes and high ceilings, which allowed for the introduction of a mezzanine level accommodating part of the kitchen.

The restaurant is organised into a series of distinct zones, including an entrance area suited for brunch, a contact bar, a main dining hall with soft seating, more intimate sections, and a separate event space that can be divided from the main hall by perforated partitions.

At the core of the project is the open kitchen, where the cooking process becomes a daily performance.

Concept

The material palette is based on warm wood. Veneered oak panels create a refined and tactile surface, while sections of the walls finished with marble aggregate introduce contrast.

Soft curves, mirrors, and carefully considered lighting help to create a sense of intimacy within the large space.

Two large circular tables, each 1.6 metres in diameter, are crafted from stained elm root veneer and finished with a high-gloss lacquer. A concealed mechanism allows the central section to rotate, providing удобство for larger groups.

The lighting fixtures above them, along with much of the furniture, were designed specifically for the project. These elements establish key focal points and define the visual structure of the interior.
