About the Project

The owner of this apartment in central Saratov belongs to a generation of young, driven professionals deeply involved in digital technologies. Active and single, he works a lot — his business is in IT — and travels frequently.

He wanted a contemporary interior, masculine and dark, and even pushed for more radical solutions than what was eventually realised. We agreed not to take the brutality too far: the apartment may be sold or rented in the future, and an entirely black interior would make that more difficult. For now, the client lives here himself.

Layout

During the redesign, the kitchen was combined with the living room. Due to the shape of the apartment, the space became elongated, which was used to organise all functions in a linear way.

The bedroom turned out unconventional because of the layout, with two doors positioned on either side of the bed

Concept

The interior is based on clear, functional solutions and strict lines.

Dark, cool-toned colours dominate, working together with the exposed concrete columns. The structural elements of the apartment were left untouched and finished with a clear coating.

Texture plays a key role throughout the space. Wooden panels are visible from different angles, while warm lighting adds a sense of comfort to an otherwise cool and dark interior.
